Hello
I'm Sue, born and raised in the vibrant, dynamic and cosmopolitan capital city of London, England, in the UK and I am a colour pencil artist. I have had the immense privilege of caring for a number of gorgeous dogs, cats & birds over the years so I know just how much our furry family members mean to us and what an important part they play in our lives. I am passionate about producing beautiful wildlife and pet portraits but I always relish an opportunity that challenges me so would be more than happy to discuss an alternative subject.
My Story
I have always had a passion for art from way back when I was at school, along with graphic design. I fully embraced both subjects, always trying different mediums and being as creative as possible, picking Indian Inks as my favourite. I received top marks and a prominent display area which I utilised to its full potential, back then I count myself very lucky that my teachers always encouraged me.

When I entered the world of work, however, it took me in a different direction, office admin, secretary, PA to an MD, then into the field of IT at a higher education establishment, embracing 1st, 2nd & 3rd line IT support. I was lucky to meet so many incredibly diverse and amazing people it was a real joy. I did embrace my artful side during that time utilising my creativity designing posters, signs, presentations, leaflets. I also never strayed far from the Art Dept…. subconsciously channelling my inner artist I think. Eventually I had to take a long time out to become a full time carer - one of the hardest jobs ever.

Over the years I’ve dabbled with graphite pencil, rediscovered my love for creating all things arts and crafts designing cards, then during lockdown I picked up some colour pencils one day and just fell head over heels in love with their incredible ability to blend and produce the most spectacularly vibrant and stunning realistic looks. I joined the Bonny Snowdon Academy and began to brush up on new skills and techniques, discovering a number of new and unique surfaces which allow for some gorgeous looks especially when reproducing fur or feathers.

I am now embracing my art journey and very much hope I might meet you along the way and have an opportunity to draw something wonderful for you.
